My HDR Photography Lightroom to Photomatix workflow.
Today I reveal what my HDR photography Lightroom to Photomatix workflow is, all in a video! Well besides this part which I am writing… I am writing this today because I am rather sick of the horrendous “HDR photos” I have been seeing of late. Boy this is turning into a rant blog now… Anyway I wanted to show how useful this TOOL of HDR can be, I think this could help you understand a bit more as well as point to some ideas for creating much more visually appealing photos!
Well first off if you have no clue what HDR photography is READ THIS, it should help a bit. Second if you are one that turns your nose up at the term HDR photography then this is designed perfectly for you. And thirdly, this is for everyone that thinks that HDR is a “look” vs a TOOL to help you create great images, from less than great lighting scenarios!
My HDR photography Lightroom to Photomatix workflow is quite simple really, the goal is to take the bracketed images and create one, flat, well balanced, photo in Photomatix, then brought back into Lightroom for editing. It is NOT to jack every setting, over saturate the colours, boost the contrast and pump up the CLARITY to be left with a disastrous mess of pixels. Unfortunately seeing way too many of those types of HDR photos is what has lead me to create this video…
So please take the time to watch through my HDR photography Lightroom to Photomatix workflow, I think it will really help give you an idea of what you are trying to achieve in an HDR photo!
